Hearty congratulations to Andrew Mullen of Newton Mearns who won a bronze at the Paralympic Games in Rio. in recognition of this fantastic achievement I have tabled the following motion.
Well done Andrew.
That the Parliament sends its hearty congratulations to Andrew Mullen on his Paralympic Bronze at the Rio Games; notes that the 19-year-old won the bronze medal in the 200m freestyle S5 event; acknowledges that he was the first Scot to win a medal as part of Team GB in these Paralympics; understands that he also competed at London 2012 where he made his Paralympic debut, narrowly missing out on a medal as he finished fourth in both the 50m backstroke and 50m butterfly, and wishes Andrew all the best in his swimming career and Team GB every success as the Paralympics continue.
