East Renfrewshire MP, Paul Masterton, and Eastwood MSP, Jackson Carlaw, have taken part in a firewalk to raise money for local charity Rebecca Rocks.
The Rebecca Rocks Firewalk took place on 30 June 2018 at Whitecraigs Rugby Club to raise monies for CHAS.
Newton Mearns residents Andrea and Alistair McKeown set up the charity in memory of their daughter Rebecca who died of meningitis aged two.
Andrea and Alistair have been fundraising for Robin House and CHAS since the death of Rebecca in 2009 but started Rebecca Rocks in 2010 to raise money specifically for tickets to concerts and events for children in CHAS care.
Commenting Jackson Carlaw MSP said:
“A year before I get my bus pass a firewalk was certainly not something I intended doing but it was a superb way of raising money for Rebecca Rocks.
"Over £8,600 has now been raised which will also assist CHAS with their ongoing support of children and their families."
Paul Masterton MP added:
"Walking over a 1,000 degree heat was challenging to say the least but worthwhile to support Rebecca Rocks.
"Well done to Andrea and Alistair for all their work, which has seem them raise some £60,000 for CHAS since 2009."
