With just over a month until Christmas, Eastwood MSP Jackson Carlaw is reminding local children to be sure to get their letters into Santa in time.
The deadline for posting your letter to Santa is 9 December 2016 and Santa can only reply if he has your name and address.
Royal Mail have been delivering letters for Santa since 1963 and every year he receives hundreds of thousands of these special letters from boys and girls across our United Kingdom.
Commenting ahead of the deadline Jackson Carlaw MSP said:
“Sadly I am now too old to write to Santa and have to rely on Mrs Carlaw and the family for my presents, yet many children in Eastwood will be counting down to leaving a mince pie out for Santa.
“The special team of Royal Mail elves are working flat out to ensure that Santa receives the thousands of letters from Eastwood children who are awaiting Christmas with anticipation.
“Since Santa is so busy at this time of year, and there is after all only one of him, parents need to ensure their children get their letters in ahead of the deadline.
“Thanks to the local Royal Mail teams for all their help in assisting Santa and it goes without saying that they do a huge amount of work in also delivering Christmas presents to Scots abroad and in so doing help bring the warmth of family into the lives of many at this important time of year.”
